On a personal journey back to the home of my relatives and ancestors I went to visit my cousin Desmond Guinness. He told me that the founder of the family business, Arthur Guiness, back in 1756 had created a society for peace in Ireland. He then produced a copy of the crest that had been created by him to mark the occasion. To my utter amazement it was two dolphins around a heart exploding into many hearts…with the motto fidelity and constancy…
