Vanishing Prayer

In response to a plea from The Sovereign Dine'h Nation,
Heart Magic made a twenty minute film which documents the
plight of the traditional Dine'h (Navajo) as they struggle to
preserve their land and their right to live on it. Over 4,000
copies of the film have been distributed to date. As a result
the Legal Defense Fund as well as public support for the
Dine'h has grown to the point where the Grandmothers have
thus far successfully resisted relocation from their traditional
lands.

The U'WA Campaign

Heart Magic arranged and recorded a brief tree planting ceremony
in Panama with director John Boorman (Emerald Forest), Pierce
Brosnan and Geoffrey Rush. This honored the efforts of the U'WA
tribe to protect their sacred lands from oil drilling as well as the
lost lives of three humanitarians in 1999 in the Colombian
cloudforests. As a result of the U'WA's protests, oil giant
Occidental Petroleum received a temporary injunction against
drilling on U'WA land. Since then Heart Magic has introduced
actor Cary Elwes to the cause and a short film has been completed
by Amazon Watch for distribution.

These Film campaigns have empowered the tribes to gain critical
assistance, supporting their economic and cultural survival for
future generations.

Environmental Campaign -
National Tree Day with Planet Ark

Kim Kindersley has helped to create and film various commercials to support and launch campaigns for Australian based environmental group Planet Ark

One of these campaigns was National Tree Day - from 30,000 trees planted in one day in 1998, National Tree Day has grown beyond all expectation.

Fronted by Pierce Brosnan for 3 years - over 1.8 million trees were put in the ground by the Australian public National Tree Days. It is hoped that National Tree Day will grow to be a global event by the year 2005.

Kim Kindersley also directed a Rueters Environmental News Website PSA and a "Do Something" Campaign PSA.

Heart Magic continues to support Planet Ark who are creating a wonderful working blue print for environmental education that could work in every country around the world.
